"We don't have to agree on anything to be kind to one another"
BACKGROUND & MISSION
Students4Change is a political action committee comprised of an independent group of students who are engaged in local politics. Our mission is to encourage students and youth to become politically active members of society. The PAC also endorses various policies/proposals and supports candidates for local office who support the interests of students and youth in our town.
The formation of Students4Change (S4C) is based on the principle that youth and students have been disregarded and unheard in our local politics for too long. By providing a platform for ALL students and youth to come together and collectively support ideas, our goal is to enhance the role of student voice in our local government. We support bringing a collection of different ideologies together to form one collective voice for youth in our community.
In an effort to mobilize historic turnout in the 2020 Election (contested primary), Students4Change, formerly NKStudents4Candidates, canvassed around town, explained the importance of the election. Grace Mackrell (above) speaking at S4C's June 2021 Community Event at Allen Harbor Marina.
NKStudents4Candidates encouraged students and youth to get involved in the local political process by researching local issues, drafting letters to officials, and attending public meetings. Brooke Thompson (above) advocates for candidates in the Town Council 2020 Election.
With positive change through community organizing and activism, many members of Students4Change participated in our local democracy. They continue to do so today. The 2021 Students4Change Board of Directors (above) at the S4C Community Event in June 2021.
